On Saturday, May 7 the friends of St John held a successful abseiling event in conjunction with Keynsham Mencap. A total of 42 people made the descent of the tower of St John’s Church. The youngest person brave enough to descend the 100 foot tower was 12 years old and the oldest 87 years old. Over £7,000 was raised for good causes with over £1,000 sponsorship raised for the Friends of St John.
